Hey, I’m Kannika.
Photographer, traveller, always carrying too many camera batteries.
what I do + how i see the world
I’m based in the Ngunnawal Country (Canberra). These days I mostly work with tourism businesses, unique places to stay, and local brands. I love connecting with the people behind them and helping tell their stories through photography.
Whether it's a tiny cabin in the mountains, a tourism campaign, or a local business, I'm usually looking for the same thing: good light, real moments and the details people actually connect with.
I’m big on the little things - the way light moves through a space, the way someone talks with their hands when they’re excited, the quiet details that make a moment feel honest. That’s the stuff I pay attention to.
My story:
I was born and raised in Thailand :)
One of my earliest photography memories is catching a two-hour bus from my hometown, Kanchanaburi, to Bangkok to buy my first camera from a stranger at a bus station. I’d saved up 2,000 THB (about $95 AUD), and from that moment on, I was hooked - taking photos of anything and everything around me.
After high school, I moved to Perth and lived there for eight years. Life got busy, and I didn’t always have time to shoot, but I never stopped noticing light and shadow wherever I went. Australia was completely new to me - the culture, the language, learning to live independently -and being a uni student whose first language wasn’t English definitely kept me on my toes.
Fast forward to now, I’m in Canberra - the place that pulled me back into photography properly. I still love travelling to different regions and countries, and Canberra makes it ridiculously easy to do that (sorry, WA).
Being a Thai girl living here has given me the privilege of seeing life from many angles - different cultures, different people, different ways of being. Moving between places has shaped how I observe and connect, and photography is how I hold onto those moments. It’s where my love for people, place, and light comes together.
How I work:
I like things to feel relaxed.
Most people don't love having a camera pointed at them, and honestly I get it.
So there isn't a lot of stiff posing or weird photographer tricks.
I pay attention, give a bit of direction when needed, and let things happen naturally.
Outside of photography
Strong coffee
Snowboarding
Competitive bodybuilding
Buying books faster than I read them
Getting distracted by good light
Spreadsheet for planning my next trip
If we work together
Whether it's a tourism campaign, accommodation content, or a brand project, my goal is pretty simple: create images that feel genuine and actually get used.
And hopefully have a few laughs along the way.
Kind words
